Recent photo shoots

Hey everyone! I don't know what's wrong with me but I am not good at this blog thing. I'm always so proud of myself when I post something and then months go by. I'm gonna try to get better. Anyway... here are a few recent pictures of the girls. The one in the black and white dresses were taken in February when Sage was 21 months old and Sydney was 6 months old. The ones in the pink and green dresses were their Easter pictures taken in April. Sage was 23 months and Sydney 8 months. As you can see I really enjoy dressing them up alike. I think dressing them up is by far my favorite hobby. Sage and Sydney are doing great. Sage has quite a personality. She sings all the time. She knows a lot of songs. This has been her newest funny thing: When she sings a song I've been joining in to sing it with her and right after I join in she says no no no! so I'll stop singing. She doesn't want me to sing with her. I think she forgets that if it weren't for me, she wouldn't have learned these songs in the first place. See how unappreciated I am? She uses me for my musical knowledge and then casts me aside! :) She is hilarious. It blows my mind how well she talks. She's like a tiny adult already. She's also crazy about her daddy. I've accepted the fact that she loves him more than she loves me. I would be jealous but seeing them together is the cutest thing ever so it makes me happy. Sage is so girly. She gets so excited for church cause she gets to wear a "pretty dress". After I put on her dress she says "baby will wear a pretty dress too". When we go shopping and she sees shoes she instantly kicks her shoes off and begs me to try on new shoes. Sydney is also a cutie pie. 3 weeks ago we had their doctor appointments together and Sydney outweighs her older sister by one ounce! She's 26 lbs. 5 oz. at 9 months old! Isn't that insane?! She is a chunker and a cute one at that. Sydney has showed no signs of mobility. We think she doesn't attempt to move cause it's too much work. :) She may not move but she is a great reacher. She reaches for things and squirms like crazy. She adores Sage and constantly laughs at her. My favorite moments every day are when the two of them laugh together. It's the best. Sydney says Daddy, bye bye, clap, achu (fake sneezes), and all done. She's also tough. Sage has hit her a few times on purpose and by accident and Sydney just takes it and never cries. She has a really sweet personality and is a constant joy. I love that they're so close in age. They entertain each other and they're already little buddies. I hope you enjoyed this little update and I hope you like the pictures!

Sweet Sisters

I bought these cute matching pajamas when I was about 3 months pregnant with Sydney. I thought they would be for this summer since the smaller pajamas are 12 month size but our little Sydney is very large for her age so I realized tonight that I better have them wear these before Sydney gets too big. Speaking of Sydney's size she had her 6 month checkup 2 weeks ago and she's 21 pounds. The doctor doesn't bother looking at the 6 month percentile chart. He said she's the height of an average 14 month old and the weight of an average 13 month old. Luckily her head is within the 6month chart at the 90th percentile. :) Sage and Sydney can already share pajamas. My mom predicts that in a year they'll be the same size and I think she might be right. Anyway, here is a little photo shoot we did tonight. I don't know if all moms are as psycho as me but I LOVE matching outfits.

The first of the many times Sydney will tackle her sister :)

They are so sweet and affectionate with each other.

Christmas 2010

Christmas this year was really fun. We stayed here at home in Pennsylvania. It was the first Christmas where Sage understood what was going on. It was so entertaining to watch her open her presents and play with them. I think we doubled our toy inventory. We're running out of room. We really need a playroom. Some of the toys Sage got was a mini stroller (probably her favorite gift), a ball popper, a little race car, new books, a xylophone, blocks, her first barbie, a desk, and a barn magnet set among others. We just got a few teething toys for Sydney since she didn't really know what was going on. Anyway, we went to John's brother Mike's house Christmas morning and he and our sister-in-law Jaime made us a yummy brunch and Sage played with her cousin Emma. We spent the rest of Christmas relaxing at home. We made a big Christmas dinner and apple and chocolate pie. The day after Christmas we went to John's parents house for a big family get-together. 5 of John's 6 siblings were there and lots of Sage and Sydney's cousins. We had dinner together and exchanged gifts. It was really fun. I made over 100 chocolate chip cookies that weekend and gave them away in tins. We also made an art project for John's parents and some friends. We had a busy weekend. It was fun to make our own Christmas memories. Next year Sydney will have a better idea of what's going on and it'll be even more fun. Here are a few pictures of Christmas day. The picture of them in their Christmas dresses was taken about a week before Christmas.

Thanksgiving Texas Trip

We went to my parents' house for Thanksgiving and we had a great time like always. It was so fun to see Sage interact with her cousins Mason and Hannah. The last time she had seen them she was a little too young to play with them. She loved being around them and laughed at practically everything they did. We didn't take any family pictures but here are a few pictures of our gorgeous daughter Sage at the park and also a picture of the cousins together.

John took some beautiful pictures of Sage at the park.
It helps that she happens to be gorgeous. :)

Sage at the top of the slide.

Could this picture be any cuter?

I love how Sydney's leaning against Sage's arm.

Here are the 4 cousins together. This is Hannah, Mason, Sydney and Sage.

Sydney laughing

Here is a little video of Sydney laughing in the tub. I think that a baby's laugh is the most adorable sound in the world.

Sydney's birth announcement

To give you a little background, John has been really into photography ever since Sage was born. We got a really nice camera around then and he loves trying new things with it. We did a little photo shoot in our living room for this birth announcement. Those are real rose petals even though they look fake. John did the picture editing himself and I think he did an amazing job. We were really happy with the way it turned out. I hope y'all like it!

Life with two kids

How cute are they together! I was so excited for them to wear these little sister, big sister shirts. I'm a little nuts about dressing them. :)

Here is the first of many family pictures.

My mom came with us to the park to take these pictures the day before she went back to Texas. Didn't this one turn out nice?

So far my dad has gotten her to smile the biggest in a picture!

Here is Sydney Raelyn Pitcavage the day of her baby blessing, September 19, 2010. My mom made this beautiful blessing dress and both Sage and Sydney have worn it.

Hi everyone! It has taken me way too long to post something new. Life with two kids is a lot more work. I've learned that I have to plan for twice as long to leave the house with them and twice as long to go shopping or anywhere with them. It's weird to think about those days when I would go to a store alone. I've come a long way since Sydney was born. I was terrified to go anywhere with the two of them for a while but now I'm managing to get out and go places during the day. Sydney is such a sweet little thing. She loves to smile and laugh. She has the most adorable laugh. Even her cry is cute. (incessant screaming not so cute) Now that we have her I can't imagine life without her. Sage is so sweet with her. The first month or so Sage would hit Sydney every now and then for no reason but that stopped and now she is so sweet and gentle with her. She loves to kiss her and gets so excited around her. She runs over to her randomly throughout the day and yells, "this is the baby!" and "hi baby!" Sydney is huge for her age. Even though Sage has always been in the 90th percentile for size she was always true to size/age with clothes but Sydney is wearing 6-9 month size and she's almost 3 months old! Sage is getting smarter every day. She talks so much and can count to ten. She knows many letters in the alphabet and she loves to sing songs. I think she has a nice voice. She's already showing an ability to hear a note and sing it correctly which I think is impressive. Back to Sydney: another reason we love her is that she's been sleeping through the night since she was 3 weeks old! Isn't that amazing? She sleeps about 8 hours, wakes up to eat and goes back to sleep for another 3 or 4 hours. The latest exciting event we had was a surprise visit from my dad. He flew in to surprise me for Sydney's baby blessing. He came the third weekend of September. He was here from that Friday-Monday. It was a brief visit but a lot of fun. Sage warmed up to him by the 2nd day. Our next exciting event is a trip to Texas for thanksgiving. We'll be there for a week. My sister Stephanie is driving down from Kansas with her 2 kids. I'll get to see my whole family. Traveling with 2 kids under two will be an adventure. Here are a few recent pictures. I need to take more. Enjoy!
